ebay feedback customs....

Hi All,
I'm new to this whole ebay thing and have just bought my first 8 items in the past 9 days. I've paid for all using paypal and they have all been dispatched to me (none have arrived yet.)
Is it customary for the seller to wait for the buyer to leave feedback first? Because surely I should get feedback already - I've paid! Just wondering what your experiences of this were? I have no problem going first, just seems strange.

Most sellers leave feedback first. But some wait to they have feedback left for them. I don't think there are any rules. If you had a good service and products leave nice positive feedback. The sellers can only leave positive feedback for you. Don't worry too much about who leaves feedback first , I think too many people get annoyed when the seller doesn't leave feedback first, but does it really matter that much?0

No, doesn't matter at all, was just curious. I'm sure folk who are selling huge quantities of items have better things to do than leave feedback everytime someone pays by paypal.0

You've bought 8 items in past 9 days and haven't received any of them? That sounds very odd, most of my buyers get their goods within 48 hours of payment. Check your address on paypal, this doesn't sound right.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just did! (After you nearly gave me a heart attack!:rotfl:) Nope, it's okay. Two folks said they only post on one certain day of the week (can't remember which day) so maybe I missed the "post-day" that week. Fingers crossed the postman will be laden tomorrow.....or I might be posting a new thread on here asking for help!0 -
Yes, you've paid, but you might still turn out to be an irrational, picky, lying psychotic buyer from hell.
So plenty of sellers sit tight until they receive confirmation the buyer's satisfied, either by email or feedback, before they give them a green dot.
It sucks to leave a positive and then wish you hadn't.
You might not know that sellers aren't allowed to leave negatives anymore - which means there is a somewhat defensive attitude amongst sellers when it comes to feedback, unsurprisingly. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

LOL!!! Moi?! Irrational, picky, lying and psychotic?! Jeez, not usually all at once - unless I'm really pushed!:rotfl:
Why can't sellers leave negatives?! Is that right?! What if I don't pay (when I'm being irrational and psychotic) or mess them about (ditto previous)? Surely other sellers have a right to know I'm an idiot? (I'm not.):D0 -

I do think you need to be more selective with your sellers, it is unreasonable not to post quickly and I'm amazed that their feedback doesn't reflect their poor customer service if you are waiting more than a week for goods.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm only new. I went a bit mad.(Oh, I'll have one of them. Oh look at that - I want that too. Haven't seen one of those in years, I want it.)
Paypal is bad. I'm going to put a combination lock on my computer in case I ebay while slightly drunk.
Will definitely be paying more attention from now on!!!:T0 -
As a seller I would NEVER leave feedback until I had had some sort of feedback from the buyer to indicate that they are happy with the purchase.
I don't consider the "buying process" to be complete until that stage is reached.0
