Problem using card reader with Co-operative Bank

I hope everyone doesn't mind me resurrecting and posting on this thread rather than start another of the same title...?
Been getting to grips with a new Co-op card reader to transfer money to a non-co-op account and it seems all very straight forward until I get to a certain point in a transaction.
I enter all the required details of the transaction on the webpage (intended recipient of money, sort code, account number, amount etc), and then go through the card reader stuff. Once I put in all the required pins and codes successfully, I am taken back to the webpage where I've put in the details of my transaction and I find that the account number I have entered to receive the payment has had two zeros added to it.
As in XXXX XXXX00.
I didn't type them in so the software has put them in, but there is a warning on the page to check all details very carefully as the wrong details can cause problems. Well the details are wrong. I've tried twice now and am getting the same thing happening.
Now, the software quite clearly wants to add the two zeros, but I don't want to hit the 'submit' button and watch £65 disappear into the ether never to be seen again because the account number is wrong.
Can anyone shed any light on this?"carpe that diem"0 -
Odd, given that account numbers are 8 digits long, not 10. Presumably the last two drop off but perhaps someone else knows what actually happens. I agree it is better to wait till you can be sure that things will go to the right account.0

If you're transferring to one of your own accounts, then I'd just transfer 1p first, then if that arrives safely, send the other £64.99.
Or just call telephone banking.0 -
All the banks' card readers are interchangeable.
Lloyds, Nationwide and co-op/smile are interchangeable with each other but not with Natwest. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

The reader expects you to enter the amount without the decimal point. ie £65.00 would be entered as 6500. If you are able, then sending a small amount first is always a good idea.0

Natwest and Nationwide card readers are interchangeable.
I was not aware that Lloyds TSB used them, so can't comment on that.0 -
I think all of the major banks' card readers are interchangeable.0

Hi there.
It's actually the account number it's adding the extra two zeros to, rather than the amount of money I'm transferring."carpe that diem"0
