  • yeah i just read about it on the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5385846.stm

I'm currently on the 3 for £30 package, can existing customers upgrade to the new 4 for £40 package ??

At the moment i'm on O2 pay-as-you-go and get 300 texts for £10 a month, so the 300 mins are fantastic
  • soo, what do other people think about this new offer/service ?

Here is a link to the offer. Its not really advertised as a 4 for £40 offer as far as I can see.

The terms and conditions are at the bottom of the page.

The Virgin PayMonthly SIM Only contract is currently available for £15 instead of the usual £20 for those that don't come under the t&c of the £10 offer by NTL/Telewest.

    More info here.

This is handy for those that aren't elligible for NTL/Telewest's offer and are only interested in the great-value sim only contract.

Although it is a monthly contract it is only a 30 day contract

i was slightly confused over the 3 for £30/4 for £40 so i rang them.as long as you have a service from them you qualify for the sim offer.

The only slight minus point is that it’s only free for 12 months. However, the monthly limit of 6GB is very generous for something offered as a freebie – compared with ntl:Τelewest’s “unlimited” usage. Also, because it’s ADSL broadband, you need a BT telephone line. If you take cable broadband and are prepared to use Internet telephony, you don’t have the cost of line rental for your home telephone.
