Another thank you for your suggestions (and links), I am feeling very hopeful now :D.

I do have some nice leggings that I got to wear under my more 'summery' dresses but my psoriasis pretty much covers all of my lower legs/ankles and the tops of my feet so I would have to wear boots as I wont want any of my foot on show :( (I try not to get disheartened but it's so frustrating at times!).

Perhaps I will see if OH will buy me some nice evening boots ;)

I am in town this week for a course so definately going to pop into Evans first of all and see what they have

    Much appreciated

  • Hi....sorry if I'm being intrusive but have you ever been tested for coeliac disease.....it runs in my family and I'm currently trying to convince my sister to get tested, she suffers terribly with psoriasis but as she has no other symptoms seems reluctant to be tested....seems to think she'll be wasting GP's time! (this really annoys me!)....my son also shows no symptoms but has just found out he has this too....
Apologies if I'm sticking my nose in, hope you're not offended

I bought some purple tights from Asda which were marked 25p but went through the till at double the price (uh, 50p) so when I complained at customer services I got a £2 giftcard for the overcharge

Hi! No I am not offended in the slightest :). I've had it since I was 7 and have pretty much exhausted conventional medical avenues with light therapy/creams etc and the only thing that has ever really worked for me is a drug called Methotrexate. Unfortunately the Metho can cause liver damage so I am only allowed to use it for short periods of time :(. The last time I saw a skin specialist I was told that unless I was willing to go to London for trials then there wasn't really much else they can do for me.

I try to be realistic in that I am not physically disabled and apart from causing some shyness and frustration, it does not stop me from doing the things I want to. I also have a very understanding OH but I do struggle in the summer as I wont wear shorts/short sleeves so I can end up very hot and moody. I couldn't read the article in the link as it asked me to log in but I did a search on the disease and psoriasis and it does seem a very feasible link between the two. I am not aware that I have ever been tested for gluten intolerance but it certainly might be worth a try!

I hope your sister can get some treatment and it clears up for her soon, whilst not actually debilitating I know first hand the trauma and stress psoriasis can bring :)

Can anyone confirm that 100 denier is what these girls wear when they look like they've got leggings on? My colleague wears some underneath tunics/short dresses and I can tell they're not leggings as they're slightly shiny but i'm too embarrassed to ask! I'd love to wear more skirts/dresses but I hate my legs so I'd have to have somethign fairly thick!

I have 100 denier and they are very thick and not at all see-through, but they're not shiny. Most I've seen tend to be kind of woolly in texture (although usually not real wool).

This season the fashion is flat boots with dresses, and tights/leggings so it will suit you. I have found the boots I want, I just need to see if I'm brave enough to wear leggings (I'll wear thick tights no problem, but I seem to have an issue with leggings :rotfl:)

I have trouble with boots! I'd LOVE to live in knee boots for the winter but most 'normal' ones won't go round my calves and the Evans ones I bought years ago slide down until their round my ankles - DOH! :(

At the risk of hijacking this, I'd like some 'normal' denier grey tights, light not 'nearly black' or 'barely black'. At least XL. Holding tummy in style would be great. Any suggestions?

Can't find tummy tights in grey but plenty of grey here?
