    2. You then pretended that part of the reason you commited fraud was because you don't have a clue how to operate the tills, you can't see the screen and even if you could read the screen you are unable to understand numbers anyway.

But the OP also stated that they were assessed as competent to use the SS tills.
If strangers can see all the holes in the OP's story, management will be able to see far more.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I have watched all these threads with no small degree of amusement.

Job One-OP is disciplined for terminating calls from customers, I am going to stick my neck out and suggest these were NOT the softly spoken ones, rather the opposite, and shows a pretty poor temperement and respect for company image.

Job Two-Steals from the employer and proceeds to blame everyone and everything else! Regardless of value of the actual gain from this, this throws OPs character is very poor light. The employer's/manager's natural thought has to be whether this is the ONLY act of gross misconduct.

I think if I was OP I would be seriously resigning and being incredibly grateful if offered a neutral reference-and next time, sticking to the rules if the staff handbook, not the tittle tattle of the break room.

It spoils it for everyone things like this, those self service tills are fab when you only have a few bits and need to rush through-dishonesty like this lessens the chances of them being continued-and the feature to add the number of your own bags might be taken away-even for GENUINE people

I can't believe the front of some people, if I had STOLEN from somebody, I would be deeply ashamed and mortified and certainly wouldn't be broadcasting what I had done and then thinking up a miriad of excuses/justifying it by knowing other people did it! And then to rub salt in the wound you say you were named as employee of the month/year(forgotten which), my god what did you do for that??!!!!

Can you not just admit you have done something wrong and remember the old statement "if you do the crime, do the time?"

Combine all the threads on this and we have post of the month (shame thats gone). I haven't laughed so much at the audacity, back tracking and blame mentality of some people for a long time - having said that it saddens me that I will also have to fund her unemployment as there will be little if any chance of new job in this market when genuine honest people are struggling.

Go do it Sainsburys ............or I will cancel my nectar card :rotfl:
  • Like SarEl said in another linked thread, I have been glued to this developing saga over the last week! Am I right in thinking that today is D-Day for Jumpy? Do come back and let us know what happened - and what you have decided to do. I do hope that it goes well for you - and that you find the courage to admit that you were wrong and ditch those excuses for good!

Anyone who is missing the unfolding saga of JumpyCheese and her bags can find that she has jumped ship (and significant parts of the story too) to find more conducive answers from people she omitted to tell the whole story to.

I think someone that is registered on those forums should make a link to the threads over here so they get a truer picture of what is going on....

That'd be hard - all the really salacious bits of the various threads - and some of the threads themselves, have been deleted :( I miss them :)

Luckily you have a good memory SarEl so you could give a good synopsis to bring the rest of them up to speed :)

She even starts that post the same, basically admitting it was deliberate, everyone does it and she thought she could get away with it...before, out comes the excuses again. I just don't understand it, if i was going to go and lie about something I wouldn't kick off with something that contradicts it. Fortunately it seems some people picked up on it but they don't challenge things in the same way over on that forum. Here we call a spade a spade and a lie a lie.
