Suspended from work - I've seen colleagues and customers what I have done
Comments

Please elaborate on what is not simple in this case?
For starters, the fact that the suggestion was raised in a training session. The fact that because of this and that it's been hinted that it may well be known practice amongst other colleagues. That the OP has felt bullied into providing other names. That the OP has been forced to lie to work colleagues over their suspension.
I don't need to go on. There will be more and other things that the OP has not seemed necesary to mention at present as they may not deem it relevent. All of which along with other suggestions collected will be built to form a case for the OP in their suspension meeting and subsequent appeal if they are dismissed. No case is ever without a defence (unless you're a bit witless). If you have ANY experience of this then you'd already know the above."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

The CAB will not advise you if you already have a legal adviser appointed.[/QUOTE]
You don't tell them. You go along and tell them the situation and they'll talk it though.
Also with the solicitor - again, you're not asking for representation. You're getting advice - all of which should be covered if you have legal protection. I know - because I've used it!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Can I ask how many points we're talking about here? i.e. How many times per week did you shop at the self scan tills claiming you'd used 9 bags and for how long?
I would say it makes a difference whether you've done it 10 times over the past year or 3 times per week over the past year.MSE aim: more thanks than posts :j0 -
At work, they having a recruitment freeze - ie if anyone goes for whatever reason, they won't be replaced. Existing colleagues are being trained for more areas all the time. There is one colleague who is trained on the counters, kiosk and checkouts even though his role is grocery assistant so he's trained in 3 different depts as counters have two depts.
When I was off sick last month for 2 weeks after my eye op, the store couldn't cope without me! They were having to phone colleagues on their days off asking could they do 4 hours later on today or tomorrow. I was planning to have a week off sick, but I was still feeling the side affects of the general anathestic and had another week off."The reason we're successful, darling? All stores have a strict anti abuse policy for their loyalty crds, and all staff are made aware that it is gross misconduct if the loyalty scheme is abused, resulting in immediate dismissal. End of.0

OK - I have used the ss tills about 40 times in 2.5 months and put 9 bags for 18 of these times.
If you ever to look at a phone, look how the numbers are arranged. Then look at a calculator or number keypad on a keyboard and they are different. Both sets of tills have different number arrangements."The reason we're successful, darling? My overall charisma, of course." -- Freddie Mercury

I agree that what you've done is a) wrong and b) stupid but I personally think that your employer has blown this out of proportion, if this is indeed all it is.MSE aim: more thanks than posts :j0 -
I think you need to drop the argument about it being an accident and just be truthful and remorseful.
You either claimed for 9 reused bags on purpose or it was an accident your story switches between the two versions so which one is the truth?0 -

If there is some poor advice dispensed then I think this is it but I understand that it was meant with the best intentions.
OP is going to be disciplined for fraud so it doesn't seem a great idea for her to lie to the CAB and say she hasn't got a representative.
The CAB is voluntary and for people who really have nowhere to go whereas the OP has her union and secondly she won't learn that dishonesty doesn't pay !!!!!!Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0
