hi guys
I having trouble with JSA. my sign on day was the 6th of september which was the day I was due to go on holiday. on the 23 of august I told them that I was going on holiday on the 6th of september, so I had this from to fill . which I then return it the next day (24th august).
the HQ told me I would get my payments as usual. when I when to check my bank account I saw that they haven't paid me , so yesterday I phone them up and said that I haven't bin paid , they told that someone at my local job centre had forgot to process my evidence, and that he would phone my local job centre and get a payment in my bank accont before 4pm yesterday afternoon . So I check my bank accont just after 4pm yesterday , and they still haven't paid me . so I had to phone them up again , told them that no one had paid me , the woman I spoke to from the HQ said I need to sign on before I can get paid.......... I really feel like I'm going around in circles with the job centre, should the job centre pay me double doll money cos they didn;t pay me on the 9th of september ??? . please can you help , thanks all

I think you'll find they will catch up with you eventually - I couldn't sign a week ago as I had to attend my dad's funeral, I had given them plenty of notice and they accepted my reason - I still didn't get paid when I should have.
May I also warn you of the no doubt impending abuse you will get for daring to go on holiday when you're on benefits - I have had the full wrath of many a Daily Mail reader spewed upon me since daring to ask for advice.0 -
OP - it may well be that you have to go in and sign on again before they can pay it out - would make sense in that you are 'back' and looking for work. When is your next sign on day? Maybe call them first thing Monday morning, and if the above is the case, then see if you can get in to sign on earlier for the period you missed?
Maggie, the OP is looking for advice, and has given the info required for people to help her. You on the other hand just don't like the advice that you have been given on your thread - big difference.May I also warn you of the no doubt impending abuse you will get for daring to go on holiday when you're on benefits - I have had the full wrath of many a Daily Mail reader spewed upon me since daring to ask for advice.0 -

No, I am merely advising the OP that she will no doubtedly receive abusive posts due to the fact that she's in receipt of benefits.
I have only just received a post stating that the poster wishes I lose my house and then have my children taken from me. Is this 'advice'?0 -

The point Hammyman is making, is that you have - over the last 10 years - made your bed and now you will have to lie in it.
Alot of those who advise on these forums have been in receipt of benefits themselves - thats how they are so knowledgable. Nobody gave you any abuse because you were on benefits, they simply dislike the fact you have been in this position for 10 years and are unwilling to help change the situation.
Anxious is right - you simply don't like the advice you have received.0 -

So you are condoning 'Hammyman's' remarks wishing me homeless and my children taken from me?
Let's just clarify this, how many others agree with this?0 -

Perhaps if you were homeless it would encourage you to get a job. No, removing your children from you would no doubt be highly traumatic for all parties concerned. However, if you are unable to proide for them what other options are there.0 -

I don't know, perhaps the work house? Shame they don't still operate.
You know, what astounds me is that there are still living and breathing relics with such attitudes walking this earth. Praise be that in my intelligent circle of friends and associates (all employed before you start) don't agree with such ridiculous archaic twoddle that the majority of you do.
It must be quite stressful living such a bitter and angry existance.0 -

No one has said that from what I can see.
You took objection to the fact that somone pointed out that you had been in this situation for 10 years and its caught up with you.
When you ask for advice you have to accept that you will get some you don't want to hear.

Why did all the rubbish have to be taken into the OP's thread? Posts reported as they are irrelevant to the OP.*SIGH*

Apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread. To help try to answer your question; did you go abroad on holiday? As far as I know, this can make a difference to claiming JSA ie. you are unable to claim it while you are not in the country as you would not be available to attend interviews etc.0
