Can i just jump back in on this thread and ask something. The Zafira we bought, the man had done a spreadsheet with everything done to it and when including down to wipers! the cambelt was done in 2007..its a 2001 car but the engine in it has done around 50k..when does this need redoing really?
 Thanks x0

It is £616 for MOT not including cambelt I will check that when it comes back as I don't really want to spend any more than I have to yet, it is a 2.6 Vectra and where we live the garage prices are a bit of a joke I was told that if I wet my finger and rub it uner the belt and if bits come off it needs changed so will see what happens! Bit's will come off if the engine's running.... Bit's of your finger that is :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Every 6 years or 60 K miles from the last change, so 2013, or 60K on from whatever it was in 2007.0

Hi thanks..so if it has done 52k on the new engine we have a few miles left in it yet? i am not taking any notice of the origional mileage as not that engine anymore.
 Thanks
Replacement engine, so if it's not been done, with no record on that engine, anytime between now and the next 8k miles would be good.
If you intend to keep the car I'd do it sooner rather than later.0

Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec on 'S', told by my mechanic prior to buying it that cambelt needs doing every 5 years or 100K miles. A new belt with tensioner is £100 + fitting (£200 all-in), with another £50 on top if the water pump needs doing.Never Knowingly Understood.
