*EAT AN ELEPHANT* Weekend Daily Chat 11/12 Sep 201

Yesterday it was frogs....:D

Today its an elephant..:p

My elephant is my spare room which is full of clothes which I have been meaning to ebay for weeks and is now depressing me.

So as it is free listing weekend I am determined that by tomorrow evening I will have everything - including the kitchen sink that I have to ebay - up on ebay!!

And if you want to know how to eat an elephant - its bit by bit!

And you must eat a frog first :rotfl:

    Hi Annie

A couple of people are going to be ebaying this weekend and they haven't ebayed before. Sally and Claire are pretty good at ebay. Do you already have an paypal account. Thats a good start as its downloading turbo lister. That allows you to list things bit by bit until you are ready to make them 'live' on ebay.

won't go too fast.....doing the 15 min rule

Sammy, I've really not a clue about eBaying, but I think I read that using the Turbo lister is excluded from the free listings. I will go and read their T&Cs again, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading that yesterday.

Might see if Sal or Claire want to do a quick 'tutorial' on here ;) as I've got loads to sell, including the hard top to my MX5 and I don't want to get that wrong.

Someone said it's not good for new listers (ie without positive feedback) to put expensive items on as first things to sell. Would you agree with that?

    Found this.....

Items listed using professional tools, such as (but not limited to), Turbo Lister and Sales Manager Pro, are excluded. Items will only be eligible for this promotion if they are listed with the Quick sell or Advanced sell (Sell Your Item) forms

on the Terms and Conditions on the email I was sent during the week.

    Morning

I am at work so Pah! Its raining and quite frankly I am so tired I nearly fell asleep at the wheel this morning.

My elephant....well I guess is to actually sit down with OH and work our joint finances out...and for me to look for a job. Wish I could find something I can do from home, am thinking about doing phoenix cards in the run up to christmas and they are so reasonably priced i'm sure I can make a bit of money

    Hey Shoegal....

I am feeling distinctly un-motivated today, but have loads of boring stuff to do which I've been putting off for ages. Time to have another cup of tea and decide which bit of the elephant to tuck into first.

It depends Suzy, obviously its down to if the bidders will buy from you. When I started selling I didn't see a problem as it was about 6/7 years ago and there wasn't the ebay 'worries' there are now, but I don't know how you would get on. Personally I will purchase from someone with little/no feedback regardless. Just because I know I have paypal onside if anything were to go wrong. The best advice I can give is list something and see how you get on. I would go with small, 'invaluble' items first such as clothes/toys etc etc that way you can build feedback as well as experience. Leave your expensive item until at least 10+ positive feeback :)

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for that info Suzy about turbo lister...it does infuriate me tbh...I mean its an ebay thing and they are still going to get the final value fee and make loads of money so its not really to their advantage to exclude it!

Shall I type up a basic introduction to listing something for people?
