Just received a very pleasant phone call from customer services (I e-mailed them my concerns re my order!)
She apologised for the oversight on my order, and was contacting the despatch dept. for them to ring me and do a deal on what they DO have in stock to make up my 5 free games and free controller!! So there's some hope yet!!
I'll let you all know what follows......................

Sounds good news !

Why oh why couldn't they do this with the other orders that were cancelled due to lack of stock though ? I suggested replacements or back orders of the missing titles from my order.... oh no, we can't do that, we'll have to cancel the lot ! *Tsk*

Cancelling orders because something is missing is par for the course with Currys/Dixons.

I ordered a new cooker from them and at the same time a cheapo blender.

About three days after the order was placed I had heard nothing so gave them a ring. they had cancelled the whole order as the BLENDER was out of stock. I asked them if they could not simply have removed it from the order and they said their policy was to completely fulfil the order or cancel it!!

Needless to say I went elsewhere for my cooker!
