Truro is also worth recommending, especially as I used to live there- it's in touch with modern reality but with plenty of original twists.0

Spent many a holiday in Cornwall over the years. Can recommend St Agnes and Chapel Porth for out of the way beaches. Both have little cafes. Also the coast road from St Ives through to Sennen is lovely. All the little coves on the Lizard are fab as well, Coverack, Kynance Cove to name a couple and yes Mevagissy is great. I could talk about Cornwall for hours!!:rotfl:0

Kynance Cove is beautiful - well worth the walk from the car park to it. There is a little cafe that serves lovely cream teas!0

As mentioned, St Ives is a must but watch out for the seagulls.
But also the North Cornwall district around Port Isaac is also very nice (about 20 miles north of Newquay).:)You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't :doh:0 -
I would recommend, Padstow, Polperro, Mevagissey and Fowey. All of these are all lovely little towns but they are all very different.
We are going to Newquay at then end of Oct and will be visiting all of these places too, I can't wait!0 -
Another vote for St Ives for shopping, also Falmouth. Both around 40 minutes from Hendra. Padstow also a good place- all a bit "touristy" but they do have some nice nik nak shops rather than the usual high street ones. Truro is a larger town but IMO mostly full of stuff you can find elsewhere.0
