Investment tip....buy white curtains.

Why not just get the curtains that go with the duvet cover that you like?0
-
I was going to originally but felt it tied me a lot. The walls are white so white curtains go no matter what the duvet cover is like. There is a nice white and teal cover and also a white and red one I like. Plain white curtains mean I could change things more cheaply and easily.Herman - MP for all!

And show up every speck of dirt!0

Well that depends on how dirty you are doesn't it?

These are destined for a small spare room so they wont be getting manhandled with dirty hands or small sticky fingers every day.Herman - MP for all!

I got a pair of white curtains, there very light, like voile with a pattern along one edge. Ive disguised this tho when ive hung them up. I got them from Rosebys, which has stopped trading but i think a place called Curtain Warehouse! not sure? may sell them. They were £30 for floor length and £25 for 48"drop. Ive used them more for show than to drawer. As for showing the dirt mine are fine i even have them on my patio window. I picked white because i wasnt sure what colours in the rooms i wanted and i wanted my flat to be all the same throughout. So i just change the accessories to make each room slighty different0

Have you tried John Lewis?
I did have a quick look at the Habitat website and found these http://www.habitat.co.uk/fcp/product/browse/Pair-of-curtains/969001,___,

I have these http://homeshopping.24studio.co.uk/christmas-book/modern-living/bedroom/duvet-sets/6/plain-dyed-bedding-coordinates-pair-of-curtains/3 in white for my dd's room. They are white not some off shade, but they are quite thin.
Instead of Curtains, have you thought of using wooden slatted blinds?

I have driven 50 miles today in an effort to get some plain white curtains. Can I get them? Nope can I heck. Clearly they are a rarity and as such may be worth hunting down and investing in.

Seriously though, why the heck are these things so difficult to get? I can find cream or ivory or white with spots or strips but I just want plain white! Even the likes of Debenhams don't do matching curtains for their duvet sets anymore. Which is a shame considering they have various white duvet sets at the moment.
I've found a few websites selling white but white isn't white..it can be white, creamy white, off white etc etc. I really wanted to see the in the flesh as it were.
Don't suppose anyone has seen plain white curtains in a store recently?
I have a couple of pair of Ikea white curtains unused - but it depends whether you consider them white!! Anyway they are free if you can collect them, Bristol area0 -
Try a shop that sells fabricks and ask how much they charge to make them for you.
Here in Brum near the market are shops that sell every colour and pattern fabric that you can think of (well it seems that way!) and they will make them for you.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
@annberlin...that is so kind of you, thank you very much for making the offer, I really appreciate it.
BUT....I'm in the Highlands of Scotland which perhaps accounts for why I'm having such a hard time tracking things down.
