er...rear diff...coil or leaf springs ??????..
HI hubby just bought a 1995 vauxhall frontera sport.... needs rear differential replacing but when i tryed to order one was told i need to find out if it got COIL or LEAF springs ....? ? ? how do i find that out... where do i need to look ??? sorry having a " blonde " day !!!! :rotfl:

Have you tried looking in the Manual that may have come with the car.. if not try going to Vauxhalls own website they might have the info..... failing that ring your local vauxhall dealer they surely will know....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Leaf springs are long and flat. Coil springs are as they are called, in a coil.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

If it's a 2.2 petrol, or a 2.5 or 2.8 diesel, it's coils springs, as these engines were introduced when they revised the model range in 1995. All other engine sizes for that year could be either.
The range was revised in April 2005.
As explained above, stick your head under the rear wheels and look for a wide, slightly bowed piece of metal that looks like it'll bend a bit. If that's there, it's the pre-facelift model. If it's not, it's post.
