Anyone got the breakdown of todays puzzle I know i screwed it up

I've got letters and numbers all over this piece of paper but I think it was:

XXXY = 45
XYZZ = 35
YYZZ = 32

So if you subtract the third one from the second you get X = 3+Y

Substitute the Xs in the first equation with that and you get 9+3Y+Y = 45

So 4Y = 45-9 = 36 so Y = 9

So X = 3+9 = 12

If 2Y+2Z = 32 then 2Z = 14 so Z = 7

ZYXX is therefore 7+9+12+12 = 40

i would add a link to this thread to the dailies thread, except that there is no point now as it looks like it required daily entry and ended on the 17th..... perhaps next time someone would be so kind as to link in the dailies thread so those of us who enter by end date but do dailies have a chance to see before it is too late? thanks

Is there a guide saying we should do this? As a lot of people are new to comps, myself included i wasn't aware about messaging moderators to link its to dailies section otherwise i would have done this...

Now i know i will of course do it next time...
