Richer Sounds do home delivery on TV's (up to 37 inch) for £9.99.

Now that's really useful (not) - the OP lives somewhere near the Fenland Town of March; many, many miles from a Richer Sounds store with one in stock and they can't be ordered on the net for home delivery!

Which is also probably why he/she didn't go for a refund, as they would still have had to travel miles to find a comparable tv set.

The issue is not really about how good the brand is; it is more about how poor Tesco's Customer Service is in that they cannot even be bothered to ensure a direct replacement is actually available at the store where the OP was directed to.
I ordered mine on the internet from them.

I don't get your point. That link says it's available at 3 stores, 2 in London, one in S'ton. So if you order it online they will deliver it from the nearest available store-that could be the other end of the country from March.
The reason that Tesco are buying them in so cheap is that they are overruns, cancelled orders or end of line models, that is why on this brand you so often find that parts or service are unobtainable. If they break down in warranty, you'll get a replacement with something similar. Out of warranty, probably no one can fix them as there is no manufacturer service network for them.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

The link says quite clearly on the pic of the TV "exclusive to our in store customers", if that doesn't mean you have to go to one of those three stores to buy or order the TV at that price, and not use the net, I don't know what else it is there for!

Ah, I see, soz! Just I didn't realize they did some in-store only, as I got mine (47 " LG, £575) from them via internet last May and therefore just sorted by price and posted the link without looking. Oh well, some tiny advantages of living in London area! But, harz, there are tons of other online retailers offering TVs at Tesco's prices, so refund is best IMHO...

As this product is in short supply, it is an exclusive offer to our in-store callers and strictly 1 per customer/household.
product-reserved.jpgWe hope you'll visit us and we'd love to reserve one of these for you. Please call your local store and we'll keep one aside for you, stock levels permitting.

So, you bought a budget brand TV from a supermarket, it broke, you were offered a full refund. I fail to see the problem.
  • I wish someone could help me.. I brought a LG LH HD ready TV from Tesco, no remote, popups keep being displayed on the screen. No help from them or LG. Any ideas?

!!!!!!!!! "No remote" - product unfit for purpose. Youy are entitled to a full refund - go into Tescos and demand (very assertively) your rights!
