Length of time for 3 to activate phone?

Hi

Ordered iphone last week on contract from 3. Tried to deliver on Wednesday but as out was finally successfully delivered yesterday. The phone still, however, isn't activated- can't make or receive calls, or use the data allowance.

Is it normal to take this long? I don't seem to remember phones taking this long to be active on previous contracts, but none were with 3, or with an iphone.

Anyone advise?

Cheers

  • Every phone I've had from Three has always worked straight from the box, with the exception of the wife's 3GS which needed to be activated via iTunes, of course. I would give their sales team a ring, to be honest.

Should have said, I have set up the phone using itunes- that isn't the issue. When I try to ring out from it, I get an automated message telling me the phone hasn't been activated (it might use the word registered- can't remember, and haven't brought it with me today).

    Will ring the sales team
  • Here's a link to the Three help topic on activating your iPhone (clicky). It suggests that if the Three network settings have not been copied across to the iPhone correctly, you should re-connect it to your PC and iTunes. I'd suggest giving that a go and make sure the sim is in place.
