Insurance for new car

Your father simply needs to call his insurers, provide them with the details of the new vehicle and advise that he is changing it on a certain date, but is unsure of the exact time. Please can they do the swap on that date, but issue a cover note for the existing vehicle for 24 hours. In effect he will have cover on both vehicles but this then negates any risk of driving either vehicle uninsured.
Depending on who insurer is they may/may not charge a small fee.
I have to say that this is why we stay away from online insurers and deal with a local broker - at least that way you have somebody you can discuss issues with either over the phone or pop in and see them. As a result of using a local broker we have made substantial savings on our motor insurance and have policies tailored for what we need.0
