Can you transfer your number to a contract phone from PAYG?

Yes. When you take out the contract they will probably tell you how it's done. Basically you just need to tell your PAYG network that you want to transfer the number onto a new contract so you need the PAC code (pretty sure that's what it's called). Then you tell the contract network that code and they will transfer the number over.
Even if both networks are O2 you still have to go through all that faff, maybe other networks integrate a bit better.0 -

On a seperate issue, my girlfriend rang up orange to cancel her contract and get the PAC code. THey said that they cant transfer her number to another orange contract. Is this correct?0
