Can Vodafone do this?

Basically my friend is rather annoyed that vodafone have suddenly with no notice reassigned her number. It's not her main mobile, and the number is rather old, but she does still recieve txts and calls on it. She's rung up vodafone and was told there is nothing she can do, so now she's got various friends and family ringing up someone else!

Is there anything she can do?

You have to make a chargeable call or text every 180 days after about another 90 days the number will be reassigned, its all in the T&C's. So presumably she used the phone for incoming calls and texts only for nine months or more and never outgoing, correct? If so how does she expect VF to make any money on that number?

Yeah you have to make a call every so often. Everyone knows that.

A friend of mine got a new mobile from vodafone a few years ago and every now and then he would get some particularly dodgy phonecalls, after getting a bit suspicious and doing some internet research it turned out that his number has once belonged to a kinky website!
