I think that this would count as long as you didn't have to buy anything to get the points. If you did then that's not money for nothing but if you got the points for clickthroughs etc then that would be ok.
Right, I'm going to add this to my signature under 'money for nothing challenge'. I'm still only on £10 but I'm going to go charity shopping tomorrow to see what I can get there and then list it on Ebay.
Remember everyone, if you are going to sell something on Ebay to get you started then it needs to be something that didn't cost you anything in the first place, like a present, freebie (from a skip?), prize etc.
Also you can't just take a pound and start, it has to be 'created' some way from nothing.
Glad to have so many people doing this, I reckon we could do this over and over again

Did you pay anything to get the ipoints?! If they were free or bonus or something that's fab! :T Only kidding... I think its anything goes really!
For anyone stuck for their first bit of cash, consider pigsback if you're not a member already (or consider doing it every day if you don't already!). If you read the first 2 posts of the pigsback thread here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=267390 you should be able to build up a good number of points in a short space of time. It only takes 500 points (trust me this is not that hard to achieve, possibly even on the day you sign up!) to get £5 cash, using the method of withdrawal explained here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3038125&postcount=654 You should be able to receive your £5 (or more!) within a week and, even better, you can carry on earning points each day/week by reading the thread, answering questions etc. You do not have to spend anything to receive these points so it qulaifies :T Of course, there are extra ways to get points by spending but you don't have to!

Me too!!
Ooh, another thought.... do we have to keep growing the total with what we've already got?! I mean... say I find another way to make money from nothing, can I add that to my total or do I now have to make money from this £10 I've got?!
I'm thinking about this too much, aren't I?! :rotfl:Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003Proud to have become debt free... and striving to keep it that way

Not one I will be able to join in myself, but I had an idea about it.
What about collecting items from your local freecycle and then ebaying or car booting them for extra profit? Would that be allowed?
Good luck all involved and this thread is going to make interesting reading.0 -

There are some freecycle members who prefer their items to go to those who will use them rather than someone who will sell them on. If you state when asking for an item that you wish to sell it on, and the giver agrees, that's fine!

Ooops, sorry Kathfisch...
I am new to the freecycle world and still working out the wonders of it.
Ignore my suggestion, thought it was too good of one to come up with in a short space of time.
Apologises to all freecyclers0 -

No need to apologise at all!!!! Its not against the rules or anything, its just considered polite to let someone know what you'll be doing with the item. Many people are happy to give their stuff to someone who will sell it, often they don't have the time to sell and it gets it off their hands!

That would be fine, you could find 1,024 ways of making a £1 for nothing if you wanted to. It just gives you a bit more to be creative with if you use the money to keep on trying to double it.
I have seen some people on Freecycle suggesting that their items would be useful for carbooters (like clothes, videos etc) so I think that this would be ok in certain cases. A lot of the time the people giving stuff away are just happy to get rid of it and I don't think they would really care what the receiver did with it.0 -
didnt buy anything its all just clickthroughs and stuff. right on my way to get started and update my signitureback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0
