errmm have I missed something??

I've just put one thing on ebay and I'm waiting for the cheap days for the rest, I think it will be fairly soon. When its a Friday I normally put it on as a 10 day so that it gets two weekends and finishes at the weekend but 10 days it quite a long time.

If you/anyone put an item on on a Friday cheap day how many days do you tend to put it on for?

Also I've sold on ebay on and off but I've never done anything on buy it now although I am going to be putting some stuff on like that fairly soon, I can't figure out what the charge is for it though. Anyone know?

  • read about the secret code a few pages back, helps us all keep an eye on each others auctions, if you put the code in your listing then we can all view them by typing the code in the search bar and clicking on search title and description, this will then bring up all our items. (tip I put mine in white writing so it doesnt show up but its still there)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

  • I tend to list my items so they finish a couple of days before ill be off work that way providing everyone pays promptly I can get them all sent off, I also get them to finish in the evening, then you sometimes get alot of people at home trying to get that last bid in!

Been out with my friend tonight and told her about this challenge... she said she'd have a look for some stuff I can sell on eBay!! She's also a manager in a charity shop so she's going to keep an eye out, although she's not happy that I would be making a profit on stuff from there. :rotfl:
  • you can do it by revising your listing, if you put the code in that way we wont have to 'watch' your item, it will bring it up by typing in the code, you may have a few extra views on your page though hich could generate more bids as buyers will think it has lots more interest than it actually has as your counter will be higher

  • I've just done both Bingo's and won £21.90 on Closer...so HUGE thanks for that...will have to trawl through now to find out who to thank!!! Will update total when I get cash. But I'm baffled now as to how I'll get up to £512 or even £1024 as I've sold pretty much everything in my house that hasn't been used for over a year!

Virtually all cheap listing days are on Thursdays, so 10 days will end on a Sunday. Unfortunately due to so much extra traffic on the servers on those cheap Sundays it tends to be quite slow and there is chance you'll miss some last minute bidders.

As for listing as an auction with a BIN you'l pay the usual auction listing fee plus a BIN fee, see here:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/fees.html

The Buy It Now fee is charged
based on Buy It Now price in £:
    £0.01 - £4.99: £0.05
    £5.00 - £14.99: £0.10
    £15.00 - £29.99: £0.15
    £30.00 or more: £0.25

However if you want to list just as a bIN with no auction option then you just pay the BIN listing fee as long as you choose to list as a fixed price sale and not an auction.

One word of warning, it is best not to do your start price and BIN too far apart as otherwise you will get what is known as 'BIN stompers' ie a buyer places a starting price bid just to knock out your BIN. THis works because if you have an auction with a BIN option and someone bids rather that uses the BIN, your BIN disappears.
