Have freead-ed up to the limit today in an attempt to get rid of the last of the car-boot freebies - if I get the prices I want it should raise at least £80. If you don't mind people calling to the house it's a good option for the bulkier stuff & even the smaller stuff hasn't done too bad. Does get annoying when people phone & say they'll come down & then don't  tho' that's only happened once on this MFN effort. I've found it more effective than the newsagents' windows route tho' that just might be my area. At least if stuff doesn't sell it hasn't cost you anything - price of a stamp/phone call at most.

Had a go at the free bingo but didn't win a bean - I never do!

Looking for another bookie to try for the MB but the ones on the list that say "stake returned" don't have any indication of a free bet on their websites - there must be something I've missed, have to go & look (again!)

    Can I join in late?

Got a question though if you sold something on e-bay to start would you still have to make the money for the fees first? And also what about stuff you bought ages ago but now don't need...or does that not count?

I only joined this week, just did myself a new timetable...

Good question about the fees, I would say that because they come out after you've sold something you should be ok. I sold 2 things on Amazon and the fees come out afterwards so have counted those as my starting block!

I don't think you can sell anything you originally bought, it has to be a gift or something you found. Correct me if I'm wrong guys!

Hi Gryfon (I'm a newbie on this challenge) as far as I understand no you don't need to make the money for the ebay fees first because you're going to sell the items before you pay for them so you can use part of that money that you earned for free towards the fees.

If you've brought something ages ago it doesn't count because you paid for it originally. Unwanted presents, gifts etc count but nothing that you actually paid for. HTH's :)

lol Miss Muppet beat me to it!

As the ebay fees are charged later on, I tend to add them to my spreadsheet as I list them, then again when the item finishes, usually they then end up coming off the profit, if you see what I mean.

Let's say you have £2 in the MFN kitty. If you list a free item today for £1 and it costs you £0.20 to list, you will be down by £0.20 and have £1.80 left. If it then sells for £2, you will have £3.80. If ebay charge you £0.30 final value fee and paypal £0.10, you will have £3.40 in the kitty after the sale - hope this makes sense.

If you yourself paid for something, no matter how long ago, you can't use it in this challenge... If you can persuade family or friends to give you stuff to sell then that's ok :T

Thanks! If I'm not sure if I bought it or not then I think I should be able to use it! Get so many things over the years I tend to loose count! Got to see what I have hanging around now!
