Soolin, what do you think of the 'code' in auctions, to help us find other challengers' items? I haven't listed any with it yet and wondered what you thought?

It does take away the direct posting of ids or item links but I guess it does still leave you open to identification, perhaps by a process of elimination. My ebay id is (thankfully) very different to my MSE one but, as you say, it wouldn't take much determination on someone's part to link the two.

Its a pity really but I suppose the only way to be sure is not to post anything like that on a public forum, and to tell people by pm I guess if we feel we trust them.

I don't honestly know about that one. Has anyone checked with the Mod team to see if it is allowed firstly? And has anyone checked whether it breaches any of the multitude of minor ebay rules about what you can have in your auction and what you can't?

I personally wouldn't do it, but then I tend to be ultra cautious due to past experiences, but it might be worth talking to both the mod team, and double checking the ebay rules just to make sure it is OK.

Thanks for such a quick reply! :)

To be honest I tend to err on the side of caution, once information is out there it can't be retracted etc. And it only takes one person to cause trouble, as you've had! I don't think I will do it for the time being, perhaps someone wants to contact the mods? I'll have a look through ebay rules if I get a chance.

Isn't it absolutely tragic that there are people out there who find it amusing to auction wreck, generally cause trouble or stalk (I had one of those too albeit not via ebay) people etc just for the hell of it or because something you've said has upset them?

Also, there are masses of blatantly fraudulent listings on ebay, which I constantly report and which never get pulled, yet something like the socks does.

Must get positive head back on and go and prepare some more listings for the challenge!

Am going to have to get into this matched betting thing - trouble is, I've already used all the bookies on GP for the cashbacks....are there more out there and how can I find them? Do I need to join Quidco? I think I did at some point but have never used them. Also, is Rpoints any good to use?

There are loads more bookies out there, and of course you can make money from their free bets by using matched betting - the cashback is just a nice bonus really (I think I got about £500 cashback but £5,000 from free bets so far).

I only use Quidco as they tend to offer more cashback, but rpoints will match Quidco's payout amounts and many people are happy using rpoints.

Come over to the Gambling Introductory Offer Loopholes board and post a list of which bookies you've done already and we'll be able to tell you good ones to do next :)

You're all doing so well. My total would have been higher this week if it hadn't been for my non-payer on eBay... not only has that stopped me raising my total but it also meant I didn't have the funds to buy many other things to put back on sale. Grrrr...

Anyway, Quidco + Pigsback still ticking along nicely but I really want to keep those totals separate so won't be using these as part of my MFN challenge.

Soolin has been soooo helpful, it didn't occur to me that anyone less than honest would go to all that trouble but maybe they would- I've got myself a non-payer in the last week after all and that could be malicious.

Some people have made £10,000 in a year - it's worth investigating ;)

EDIT: This post is the one to read first if you are interested.
