Hi guys looking for a bit of advice.

Thinking of getting the HTC deire. Phoned up orange and they offered me.

Htc Desire for free
500 mins
Unlimited texts
and 500mb internet
for 25 per month, on 24 month contract.

Would really like to keep my nuumber but if i dont go through orange i need to change.

Found this deal on another site.

Htc derire free on 18 month contract
300 mins
unlimited texts
browsing (500MB) + unlimited email
Anytime mobile internet
25 per month

What does anytime mobile internet mean, if you have browsing (500MB)?

Seem to be getting a better deal for an 18 month contract, than going though orange direct on there 24 month offer.

Do you think Orange could match that deal, as i dont want to change my number, if i kept on phoning.

Thanks.

At Orange were you talking to upgrades of retentions ? If it was upgrades you need to call back and pick the option for 'thinking of leaving Orange'. That'll get you through to retentions who have the better deal (but even they have limits). Losing 200 minutes might get you the same deal (I'm guessing its on price as you didn't state that above).

The other option is to get your pac code, move your number to another networks payg. Start a new contract you noted and then move your number back...

Cant pick that option mate, as i have 3 months left of my contract and was only due an upgrade today.

Could i let the other contract run out, then transfer my number to payg. Then swap numbers with my new contract? that way i would still have same number.

    Is that possible?

That's why you didn't get a good offer. You can't threaten to leave.

If you call when you're out of contract you'll get a better offer. The trick is to keep calling retentions, the offers will vary as there are a number of ways of getting the computer to generate an offer. But that will only work once your minimum term is up.

You idea would work, but you can't swap numbers. Once you port out the old acc (whether payg or pm) is closed.
