A bit sad I know but it's stuff like that makes them appear, to me, so unprofessional. If they can't get that right then what else will they get wrong?
My thoughts exactly! I didn't spot that on the Metro document (though it is partly American).
Back on topic: the pdf implies that most people only need to provide a driving licence or passport, but reports here seemed to suggest they ask for more, hence my question. But as I have to go a bit out of my way to visit their branch, I would not be happy if they asked for more.0 -
Patriality stamp in passport is needed if you are a odd bod.0

well they don't seem to know themselves. That document says that one form of acceptable photo ID is adequate for most customers, and that others may be required if 'database checks are inconclusive'. I've just phoned them, and he said straight out that driving licence or passport, plus two other forms of proof of address are needed. No questioning my circumstances to see if I was in 'most customers' category.0 -
The Metro bank website says that if you guess how much money you put in the coin counter, you win a prize. I guess the prize is virtually valueless? Otherwise, you could just count it yourself before you put it in the machine...0

I've just opened a current account with Metro Bank and you do need photographic ID as well as two forms of ID verifying your address which are not more than 3 months old. I pointed out to them that the website clearly indicates that for most customers photographic ID (i.e. a passport or driving licence) would be sufficient. The rep wasn't able to explain why the website stated this but it wasn't the case as they have been told that 3 forms of ID will be required to open any accounts!0 -

The cartoon seemed to be a game aimed towards children. The prize seemed to be a piggy bank. An oversized plastic Metrobank logo M to put your coins in as you save. Reminding people of the brand as they save and walk past it in their home each day.0 -
Forget Metrobank. Went in there today, apparently my photocard driving licence is not valid ID as it has the vehicle classes printed on the front and the newer ones don't. It is still valid until next year and accepted everywhere else. They have nothing about this on their website or pdf linked to above. If they cannot even get this right when opening an account, I wouldn't trust them to run my account.0

Hi
Does anyone know if there are minimum/regular funding requirements for the Metro Bank current account? The debit card looks like a good one to have for travelling so I'm considering opening one (if I don't have to do this!)
Thanks
