Problems with Egg and Capital One

  • Hi Di,
They cashed my payment, I had to call them and ask for it to be refunded.
I've written a covering letter and put all 4 fos questionaires (one for each account) in the post today. I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for your help, it's quite a puzzling task and there's so much to consider so I really appreciate your advice.

    Hiya

  • Still no SAR from Egg or Capital One I'm afraid. I have written a harsh letter and highlighted the fact that the cheeky buzzards had cashed the cheques more than 40 days ago. I did however receive about 5 years worth of Egg credit card statements today and worked out that they had charged me nearly £1,000 for card protection. They have refused to send me a SAR or a copy of my credit agreement but nevertheless, I have filled out the questionnaire to the best of my knowledge and posted it to them. Lets see if they bother acknowledging this one.
  • Good luck Anna. Keep us updated, I sent my FOS questionnaires off to Egg yeseterday too (for 4 loans, 3 with no back up paperwork as they'd refused my SAR request). I'll let you know if/when I hear anything.
  • Just as I popped my stroppy letter in the post, the SAR from Egg arrived. Literally hundreds and hundreds of screen prints with not a lot of useful information (to me anyway). I have sent the second letter with regard to them not responding to my FOS questionnaire or even acknowledging it. Have given them 14 days to respond, otherwise I will have to take it to the FOS.

    Thanks for your update Anna.
    And good luck too.

    Its just typical isn't it?

If you feel they have missed any data out Anna, then you can ask them why they have not supplied them, they must explain and let you know why.:);)

Thanks Di, I think I will write to them as what they have provided me with are approximately 4 reams of scrap paper. There was quite an interesting document in there which was probably sent in error. It basically had the time lines written out e.g. when they should send customers the 8 week letter out (on the day of the deadline) etc etc. Might read the entire thing when I have insomnia :)

    That sounds pretty interesting Anna.:D

I remember on one of my SAR's a few years ago, the adviser was writing stuff down about us on the margins........., I could not believe they did not come across this before sending it out, saying that there were piles of SAR documents, to have got through everything would have taken them a very very long time.
