Getting a PAC after disconnection

I called up O2 asking for my PAC code today and was told that as my account had already been disconnected I wasn't able to request it. The only way to get it is to reconnect my phone for a fee of £35 and pay for one month's connection (£10).

I've had the phone number for 9 years and really want to keep it! Does anyone have a way around the charges? Thanks!

  • Hi there

Really sorry, but if you didn't move your number to a PAYG contract with the provider or switch it to a new firm, you've got to pay them to reinstate the line. Their fee isn't too bad; it would cost you over £100 to get your telephone number back with BT.
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.

I might be lucky coz, BT did it for free for me last june. BiG Surprise.... But they did, otherwise they are the biggest SUCKERS.
  • Oscar is correct, you either request a PAC and use it, or your disconnect.

Furthermore not all operators let you use your pac mid contract. i.e. If you are moving to vodafone, you must give them the pac code when you start the contract. So if you have already started with them the PAC is useless anyway. I believe other operators do let you transfer mid contract thou.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
