    The weather scuppered my plans last week-I really didn't feel like salad nicoise when it was cold and horrid-so slow roast pork win the day :D

    Hopefully next week will be
    Tu 14th-takeaway/pizza/fish and chips from freezer (just home from a few days holiday)
    We 15th squid and chorizo paella/salad/stewy type thing-any ideas anyone?
    Th 16th southern baked chicken, corn on the cob and coleslaw
    Fr 17th herb crusted salmon, with new potatoes and veg (carrots, green beans)
    Sa 18th BBQ ribs, with baked pots and corn on the cob
    Su 19th Gammon with mashed potatoes and veg

    Am sure we will change a number of times, but thats the hopeful plan.

    Hi everyone, where do the weeks go? Next week I've planned this:

    Saturday - L: Boyfriend coming over, going out for cheapish pub lunch. D: he's agreed my making spag bol is acceptable.

    Sunday - L: usually of a weekend morning together we have tea and toast in bed, I think this time I'll make it into a brunch by offering him scrambled egg and a rasher or two to go with his toast. And no, I don't kick him out of bed for making crumbs :rotfl:. For my dinner later on, tuna salad.

    Monday - L: tuna sandwich. D: bacon and tomato pasta.

    Tuesday - L: LO pasta. D: sausage, mash & sweetcorn.

    Wednesday - L: sandwich. D: chicken kiev, mash & beans.

    Thursday - L: sandwich. D: dahl and rice.

    Friday - L: LO dahl and rice. D: fishfingers, oven chips & beans.

    Then, if I'm here and not doing anything on the weekend:

    Saturday - L: HM roast pepper soup and maybe a chip butty. D: cheesy bean pasta.

    Sunday - L: beans on toast. D: mushroom risotto.

    This isn't a normal week because I am away Mon-Thurs at a conference, and so will be missing three evening meals. OH will need to cook. He can cook but (a) doesn't go for planning and (b) even if he does have some idea what he's planning, he won't tell me ...

    Sat: chicken with leeks, cream & bacon (slow cooker), mashed potato, broccoli [veg sausages if DD won't eat the meat]
    Sun: fried rice with egg, peas & prawns, lemon chicken using leftovers from Saturday
    Mon: OH COOKING. I suspect he will cook the pizzas I am going to leave in the freezer.
    Tues: OH COOKING. My guess is that he will cook macaroni cheese.
    Wed: OH COOKING. My guess is fishfingers, chips & beans.
    Thurs: meatballs in tomato sauce, spaghetti
    Fri: egg & potato curry with rice & peshawari naan
    Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600
    Overpayments to date: £3000
    June grocery challenge: 400/600
  • I'm not sure what order we will eat these meals but here's what I plan on cooking this week:

    * LO lasagne and HM wedges
    * Fish pie and veg
    * Pork loin with stuffing and veg
    * Chicken curry
    * Omelette, chips and beans

    Going to be really organised this week, and will also get some baking done too. Also made a big pot of soup for Saturday & Sundays lunch.
    Saturday : we are out so not a problem!"
    Sunday: Beef olives, carrots, cabbage and potatoes. Home-baking for afters. (I have started setting the table fully on a Sunday and even go to the extent of the cake stand coming out!!!)
    Monday: Chicken of some description - possibly stuffed with white pudding
    Tuesday: Pasta bake of some kind - think I have a gammon steak in the freezer so will throw that in with sweetcorn, peas and onions and serve with garlic bread.
    Wednesay: Bolognaise - mince already made so just have to pop on the spaghetti
    Thursday: Sausage casserole which will have turnip, carrots, onions and muchroons in, will have mashed potatoes also,
    Friday: HM Pizza - need to find a recipe for the dough never made one before always bought them!! - topping will be whatever is in the fridge leftover - probably spring onions, mushrooms, dried up cheese

    really need to include fish next week!
    Every days a School day!

    Found myself last week rushing and worrying over using things up as I had no real plan so going to try this week and see what happens;

    Sun - Lunch - Bagels and Soft Cheese, Dinner - Piri Piri (well spiced depending on shelf) Chicken Livers with Rice
    Mon - Lunch - Out with Mum n Sis, Dinner - LO from Sun Dinner should be enough for two portions
    Tues - Lunch - Salad, Dinner - Fresh Tomatoes on Toast :drool:, Supper - Bagels (night out so light dinner & supper rather than one big meal)
    Weds - Lunch - Salad/Toast, Dinner - Stew from Freezer with Seasonal Veggies
    Thurs - Lunch - Salad/Toast, Dinner - Patties from LO Veggies from Weds night with Baked Beans
    Fri - Lunch - Salad/Toast, Dinner - Pot Luck Maybe Frittata and left over veg/meat
    Sat - Salad/Toast, Dinner - Chicken Stir Fry or Pasta Neopli... with tomatoes :rotfl:

    Fingers crossed folks I have all the things in for these so I should need noooooooo shopping. The Toast/Salad lunch thing will be a see how it goes and I normally struggle to eat at lunchtime so this should help me get some nice healthy things in.

    That sounds lovely, PenPen - do you have a recipe, please?

    Very easy :D I'm cooking the pork in the oven over qoughly chopped HG roots and other veg (swede, carrot, red onions, yellow shallots, new potatoes, kohl rabi, squash, celery, garlic, and unless I bottle out at the last minute, beetroot ;) ). Once it's about 3/4 cook, I brush with Sharwoods Plum Sauce :) and finish with the lid off, on a higher heat, to crisp up.

    It's an adaptation of a thriftlady recipe; she introduced me to that sauce :) I used all my HG plums in crumbles this year, or I'd have a go at making my own - based on this one of Delia's, which I've made with plums as a barbeque glaze :)
