Halifax reward accounts

I don't have an overdraft on the account, but also keep £0.00 in there and take the £5 normally the day it is 'rewarded'.
I don't belive you!
You must have an active overdraft on the account but not using it, Halifax phone and online banking will not let you hold a balance lower than 1p.
The only way to get a zero balance would be to do the withdrawl over the counter?
Not sure about cash machines. (i.e. having a balance of £10 and taking it out in cash via the cash machine as this would leave a zero balance.)
I have banked with halifax for the past six years have five accounts with them and none can have a zero balance without an overdraft in place as an error is given informing a minimum balance of 1p must remain.0 -
The rules changed, you are now only allowed one reward account in your sole name and one joint reward account.
When the account is oppened you must leave £100 in over night to allow activation and then your debit card and check book will get posted.
After this period you can have a balance of whatever you want 1p or more.
Hope this helps!
For completeness +1 Ultimate Reward Current Account (Arguments as to whether this is worth having is a different issue)0 -

Likewise my balance is usually zero, via online banking and no overdraft0 -
Thanks for the info

I have 4 in my sole name because I redesignated my HICA a Reward account around the time of the T&C change.0 -
thank you for the infoLongTermLurker wrote: »Not any more - as YB says, the terms changed last year. Prior to that, there were some people claiming to have up to 6 as they opened both Halifax and BOS accounts.
Can anyone confirm if HBOS stamped on that and "consolidated" them?0 -
Try using the overdraft of 1000 on one account,to pay the 1000 into other reward accounts.
Then you put nothing in at all,I don,t do it all the time but it seemed to work last month on one reward that was paid out of four as a test.
Recently got the 50 switch so had free overdraft.0 -

Still don't believe me?War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0 -
Rather than start another thread.... do the deposits only have to total £1000? Could I send 4 x £250 or 2 x
£500?
Can I also transfer them out the same day?
Thanks0
