T-Mobile Flexible Internet Booster

Can anyone please confirm for me if the above booster has a fair usage policy of 1GB or 3GB a month?

Thanks

Depends on what phone you've got. 3gb for Android phones otherwise 1gb. Also depends if you got the phone via T-mobile or a 3rd party seller like CPW.

    Looks like it's 1gb if it's a paid for booster. T&C's HERE
  • I've seen this deal someone has posted on hotukdeals website which i'm probably wanting to go for:

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/t-mobile-sim-only-12-months-600mins/754103#comments

It looks like a sim only am thinkin of using in my iphone. The poster claims its a 3GB allowance but cannot find anything under the sim only deals on their website to back this up.

I've read through the HUKD post, and whilst there are people claiming that the allowance is 3gb, the T-Mobile T&C's are quite clear. 3gb on an Android phone, 1gb all other phones for an inclusive data package.

    I have a Desire with a 3gb allowance.
  • Do u reckon I should risk it then?

On an average month I rougly use just over 2Gb at the moment and i'm in the last month of my contract with o2.
  • The flexible booster is 1GB FUP. The Android 3GB is in addition - you can choose a separate flexible booster.
Give them a ring, mention you have an Android phone (not iPhone) and you will be on the 3GB with Web n Walk Plus (HSDPA speed)

If you can't get the 3GB usage, T-Mobile don't charge extra but Giffgaff may also be an option for your usage.

I wouldn't like to say just in case they only give you 1gb and you come after me lol. I'm just thinking how they would know if you had an Android phone or not with a SIM only deal anyway?

The main difference between the 3gb and 1gb allowances (apart from the obvious 2gb more!) is that on the 1gb download speeds are throttled at around 500kb, even though T-Mobile deny it.
  • T-Mobile throttle the 1GB to 384kbps speeds and the upload is only about 64kbps.
On the 3GB package it's fairly unthrottled - I tend to get around 1.2Mbps down and about 1Mbps up typically. In busy areas it's a bit slower, but the latency is always pretty low (max of about 130ms)

At least with T-Mobile if you go over the FUP they don't charge extra.
  • Thanks,

I was planning on going with giffgaff originally.
Was thinkin of gettin their £10 goodybag each month but obviously this only gives 150 mins a month compared to T-mob's 600mins.

Gonna give them a ring tomorrow and find out what they can do.
  • Someone has asked this in post #24 on the HDUK link. It hasn't been answered yet.
I'm on an Android tariff with them and have been pretty happy with T-Mo.
