Just had another thought about this company. . .
What do they gain by phoning us up, asking these questions under the guise of a loan offer. Then cutting us off - with or without your bank details,
Before the process is complete ?
Am I missing something here ??
Will it turn out I get lumbered with the phone bill, even though it was them who phone me. . ?
No doubt in the next couple of weeks the answer may become clear.. . .

Read (yes, that's right, read) all the posts above which will tell you how to get your money back.
To clarify myself.
After filling in all the details on the application,
Just as I was about to submit it. I noticed the company to be a broker, and after realisation of earlier pitfalls mentioned in my post
I did not actually submit the app.
And yet still - Out the money went from my account.
So I re-iterate. UNAUTHORISED removal of desperately needed funds from my account.
Plus Iam talking about more than one company on different occasions, but felt Ive been pretty long winded already and this is a short version of a very distressing few months concerning these types of extortionistic companies.0 -
Add me to this list of people contacted about this company.
Had a phone call today saying "We're ringing up about your personal finances and how they are." When I said they were fine, she then asked how much I had outstanding on my credit card.
From here, I declined to give that information and she then said "Well, it seems that you might have issues as you've been declined for a loan." And then I said well I've never been declined for a loan and haven't applied for one recently.
She then said well it says here you've been declined for one and that's why you've been passed onto us. The loan was with Discover Finance.
Well, I definitely haven't applied for any loans recently so I know that's bunkum!
Telephone number was 0161 656 9021.0 -
I got contacted on Thursday as well by a woman saying I had applied for a loan, to which I said I hadn't and I was asking her what I should do and she got very sharp saying, you need to contact discover finance fay! On the same number as you matty Hudson. I'm waiting for her to ring again so I can give her something to ponder over.......0

I had a call from them, from 01515591141.
They said they want to confirm my address as part of my refund process.
Now, recently I did ask for a refund from an airline, so I did.
But then they told me I'd applied for a loan... I told them I didn't and they hung up.
Seems like they are after peoples' addresses?0 -
Hey i could use some advice. Myself and my husband were looking at getting a loan and were contacted by a loan company called Uktrust Loans. After agreeing to pay the first month in advance due to my husbands bad credit history the loan agreement then said we had to pay a further £198 "tax" that would be fully refunded with the loan. We thought it suspicious but agreed because his credit history is bad not altogether unlikely. So we paid for it using U Kash vouchers. Once that was paid the company asked for a further £102 because it wouldn't go through and again that it would be FULLY refunded! Again we paid it (looking back we were naive) ensuring to tell them that after paying that we would be TOTALLY broke. We were promised by the managing director that it would go through. I then had to go to work. After that they contacted my husband and said that they needed ANOTHER £150!. We could not pay it and long story short they made my husband that stressed I got in from work that night and found him at the bottom of the stairs. He has a heart condition and had collapsed halfway down with chest pains and fell the rest of the way hitting his head. They had told him that his name was now black listed and that it would take 45 days for the 355 we had paid in total to be refunded. Would I have any standing if we were to take this to trading standards or fraud action? My husband is feeling ridiculously guilty! Thanks to them he is much closer to heart failure now than he was before and will be lucky if he survives any more surgery.0

Paying in that manner is like leaving the cash on top of a postbox and expecting to go back a week later to see your loan sitting there.
The money has gone, there is no comeback and no refund. the money would have gone overseas so no authority will be able to help.
Forget about the money, put it behind you and concentrate on the real things which matter, your husbands health.
No amount of stressing is going to help.
If you are struggling, pop into the DFW board, there are many living in virtually nothing helping each other pull themselves out.
Never, EVER respond to cold callers.0 -

yeah I thought that as well. The sad thing is their websites still on here and there's a chance people can fall for the same tricks. Just wish there was some way to stop them!0 -
It won't be them ringing you, just scammers pretending to be them.chazza200364 wrote: »yeah I thought that as well. The sad thing is their websites still on here and there's a chance people can fall for the same tricks. Just wish there was some way to stop them!
You have to be careful when you enter your details into random websites Google throws up offering loans, this is where they get your details from. They then ring you pretending to be your saviour, only to scam you.0 -
hi, I was contacted by this company stating I was owed PPI, the enquired about a loan I had had several years ago. I was suspicious, but not until the end of the conversation; that's when I asked if this was a scam as it sounded like one. Not heard from them since. Here's hoping any info they got was not worth anything to them. No bank details were given.
Don't accept unsolicited calls seems to be the morale of our stories.0
