Nowadays, I worry less about the debt than about how obsessive I've become in paying it off!

  • To be honest, I do this quite a lot & I have to admit I find it quite therapeutic. I'm often up & down the motorways overnight & my brain seems to be constantly doing calculations as to how much, which account, DFD etc. I'm now around 3/4 of the way through my DMP & I feel far better going through this than the blind panic, head in the sand period I went through about 6 1/2 years ago.

I was always doing that when I was in debt and now I am saving for a wedding and need to save £3,000 in 2 years so I've found myself doing it again. It might not seem a lot to you but when you only earn £660 per month and you have 2 children it's loads. Also my SOA changes on a monthly basis.

    It doesn't matter whether
it seems loads to anyone else. All debt is relative & painful to the individual whether it's £3000, £30000 or £300000.

Debt is not your life. You are your life.

That's being typed up and put on my fridge! I'm still wanting to pay the debt off as quickly as possible but I have to try and keep it all in perspective. Thanks!
