Afraid I can't take the credit for that one annie, I saw it on this thread and the last one too ;).

Very strange down here in the South, it's suddenly warmed up and got really muggy outside ! I only popped out to the P/O and it's drizzly and raining but I had to take my raincoat off as soon as I got back - I was sweating !!

No wonder the daffs don't know what they're doing !

Has anyone seen any reasonably priced flannelette pj's for kids?

    Kate xxx

Primark do really good brushed cotton (same as flannelette I think) PJs which are about £4 a pair from memory - I usually buy a size too big to do for 2 winters ;)

:rotfl::rotfl: Annie pet, if you think I'm going to sit here and spend the next 800 years of my life knitting a door curtain... YER WRONG :D
But some great ideas there, thankyoo very much. The RV says he has a hammer drill. Its news to me cos I've never seen it :rotfl: or maybe its just that he never USES it !! I also might be able to do something with the big sheet of plastic rolled up and tied - sort of like a blind ? TY! x

Anyone know roughly how expensive it is to have an electric blanket on for an hour or so before bed each night? Would it be more cost effective to heat the bedroom for an hour before bed instead??

I think using an electric blanket would be the cheaper option. Undress in your heated living room and then just jump into bed. But there's no point in having a totally unheated bedroom if the fabric in the room (curtains, carpet and bedclothes) start absorbing the damp, especially if you get lots of condensation on your windows.

  • Mardatha, have you tried that NoMoreNails stuff, its fantastic for sticking things up permanently without having to resort to holes in the walls.

Mardatha, I have the same problem with my back door. It's in the corner with a sloping roof above so we can't fit a rail above it so what I've done is fit a rail on the door itself. I've put the first and last curtain hooks about 3 slots in on the heading tape so there's a couple of inches excess curtain at the sides that hang over the edges of the door and frame, I've also put the heading tape on a bit lower than I would normally so that there's some extra at the top to cover the gap. It also means I don't have to open and close the curtain to use the door.

I hope you can understand that, I know what I mean but it's difficult to explain. :D
