forgot to mention, my luck is in. My sisters friends wore brand new uggs up to my mam's house 2 years ago, she can't be bothered to pick them up despite being asked loads because they are to small. so i now have a worn once pair of uggs boots all to myself!!! sometimes it pays to have small feet (3's)
They are nice and comfortable, but i wouldn't pay the asking price for them to be honest! i've been wearing around house like slipper bootsI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

That's a very old news report - Steve Thoburn died in March 2004!
I seem to remember reading recently that the rules have been a bit more relaxed recently. It's only a vague recollection so I'm not sure of the details.
I'm sure that he eventually won the case, but died of a heart attack before he knew
I thought that now it was allowed to put the old 1bs along with the lkg?0 -
Wore my fleece lined primani tights last night on a night out last night and they really did keep my legs warm. Definitely going to get another pair of these in the week. I noticed they were also doing them in the childrens department so I going to get the kiddies some for school as well. Doing well on the preparing for winter front at the moment. Were all stocked up quite well on winter clothes, coats, boots etc.
Going to concentrate this month on the store cupboard, its quite stocked at the minute but want to keep the momentum going.
Things to do this week are
Tights from Primani
Try to get some decent and cheap de icer for sis's car
Put away the garden furniture
Get a stock of candles
New Front door mat
Make/or buy cheaply a draft excluder for back door
Get some more wool to finish blanket and kids scarves and hats
Stock up on tea ,coffee and hot chocolate for store cupboard, I would ideally like 2 large jars of nescafe, 1 tin of hot chocolate and a big bag of Sainsburys red label tea bags stored. Ive already got a couple of cartons of uht milk and 2 tins of Marvel.
Wow, didnt realise there was quite that much too do this week xMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -

Tesco has both prices on the shelf in the veg dept, but it goes through the till priced per kg. Our local supermarket (island based) only has prices in lb!0 -

I am disabled and use a powerchair fulltime, I cant regulate my own body tempature so I wear ski wear and ATM dare 2 be has a ski wear sale on, they have a bargain full set of womens ski wear for £37 (I think if I remeber correctly, I ordered on Thursday) and coats start from under £20, they are excelent quality and last for years if you look after them.
Im hopeing my new kitchen door will be ready and fitted this week, it will make my kitchen much warmer and less drafty.0 -
Pleased it's not just me Pips Mum, I was wondering whether to post that or not but seems I'm not as daft as I thought - or it's more than just me who's daft!
Ida Notion I certainly don't do it to be 'judged', but not all visitors are OS or know the two/three 'rule'. I'd rather they used a few sheets of posh stuff than half a roll of cheapo - one visitor used a whole roll of cheapo in two days . It's just more economical to put out more expensive paper when I'm expecting people
Apologies for any misunderstanding, Sparrer. It's just that you always come across as far too lovely a person to be made to feel embarassed by the quality of your toilet roll. If it's a 'spend more to see less used' thing, maybe you should fork out for a couple of rolls of Izal (tracing paper toilet roll!) for visitors. Not only would they use less, they'd probably secretly start bringing their ownFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

Do they still make that Izal stuff - OMG I remember it from years ago. An old chap I knew bought a job lot of it and it was horrendous stuff. There are just some things in life that I will not scrimp on and Izal loo roll is right up there in the avoid list!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

I didn't think they did, but I saw some not long back in the chemist up the road from me. I used to buy stuff wholesale from Viking Direct a few years back for the business I was running at the time, and I have vague memories of them carrying it in their catalogue too.
Mention of Izal always reminds me of the damp, dingy and freezing outside toilet block in infants school, and of the traumatic time I left a whole week's worth of dinner money (60p!) on the windowsill in there. This was a small fortune at the timeFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

Lidls have the garden furniture covers on offer as from tomorrow (Monday). I know some of you were on the lookout for them so you might want to check out the online version of the website.
They also have the plants covers for frost protection as well if you are interested!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Confuzzled-- thanks for sharing your story. The things we do for our men. I still have one and he's a keeper although he is my second hubby
Its lovely that you found a place to live that you love and don't want to move from. I love to hear about life in other parts of the world and this is just one of the reasons I love this forum so much!
Tugrin-- sending hugs. Chin up! We all have days like this.
Nuala Buala-- actually I spent the better part of June in Ireland. Very beautiful and had a wonderful time. Wonderful, lovely people. Was in Dublin 3 days, a couple of days touring the south, then we rented a house in Doolin for a week. I agree that I thought Ireland was very pricey compared to England.
I would love to know a little more about all of you. Would it be impolite to ask everyone their ages, location, interests and professions?
I'll start-- i'm Kathy, 55, married, 3 adult children, 2 grandchildren (not nearby). I teach nursing at a local university. I like to read, cook, watch TV and chat on the computer. I have 2 dogs (springer spaniels), one cat (calico). I plan to retire in 6.5 years. OH is retired at 58-- lost his last job, can't find another-- so now he runs the household (yes ladies, he cleans, does laundry and can start supper!)0
