I'm also thinking about 'stockpiling' petrol - I normally only half fill the car but i thought if i put a couple of pound extra in each time until i'm only running it down to half full then i would always have at least half a tank. ( i know how many miles i get from £20- so would reset milometer each time i filled up) - thoughts?

I would imagine that the petrol heads would say that it is more economical to run on half a tank but because I'm a girlie who hates running out of petrol, I must admit that I do this most of the time (when I can afford it! A tank of diesel for my car costs me £67!)0 -
im not having much luck getting heavy lined door curtains. never seem to be any in the charity shops. at the back door i have an unlined curtain which is about 15" from the floor. if i were to pin(safety pin?) a fleece to it i think i would need 2 for it to be long enough. am i beint thick or is this the only way to do it.thanks0

this is why i only half fill it now but work is 40 miles away and if i get stuck up in the wilds of northumberland i want to be able to run my engine for heat:o

Good Lord, yes! If I get stuck at the Metrocentre, I want to be warm in the car
You could get some cans of petrol to put in the boot too, maybe? Belt and braces?0 -

I'm not very sure, but I read somewhere that it isn't illegal to have a spare can filled but it's not advisable. Something about the fuel degrading I think.0 -
I have a pair of rip off crocs wellies and they did really well in the snow/ice last winter. But please check the soles as my normal crocs have very worn treads and I go flying even if its a little bit wet.
lol at the rip off crocs. I have a pair of these too and the treads are really deep.
By far my best purchase of 2009
They are great, even when my kids slipped on the snow and ice, grabbing me, trying to drag me down with them, they kept us all up:T0
