If you or anyone else gets stuck lining curtains with fleeces ....Thankyou for that .
I havn't got a Ikea near me so i am going to have to hunt round else where ,i really want to get cream if possible so it matches in.Think you sound more capable with a needle than me,i dread to think whats it's going to look like after i've finished:rotfl:.The smaller front room windows proberly won't be to bad, from what you say it looks as if it's going to be the big patio curtains, will give it a go.
Thanks again
Send me a PM and maybe I'll be able to help you by phone. Don't want to big myself up too much but I seem to be very practical with DIY or crafts etc. My friends think I should have a 1/2 hour slot on daytime TV!
BTW I think ASDA do cream fleeces. They did last year. Ikea don't. Chillout5892

Yes I was feeling totally SMUG and warm too. Thanks to this site, I'm ready for this winter too. Just have to get some new boots like Red_lady_1's hint. But they are too pricey for me. Rumour has it high street shoe shops lost out on sales last year as their 'winter' shoes, were ... eh ... NOT! This year we should see more warmer, safer footwear for severe winter conditions, less stiletto heeled 'winter boots! I've just checked M&S and that certainly seems to be the case. YEAH!
M&S have their new stock of slipper boots in. I really recommend them. They have great soles on, you can pop out to the bins without getting them soggy. I've won't wear anything else. See the reviews.

My new purchase will come into it's own for this Winter and Spring. I've just had delivered a Knitting Machine. I can't wait to get started.
Think I know how this winter's cold weather payments are going to be spent!
I may have to invest in some of those slippers, thanks for the heads up! I have nothing but bother with cheap slippers, the sides rub away easily and get holes i findMummy of a beautiful little boy and fanatical about christmas:xmassmile:snow_laug:santa2:

I shouldn't have dipped into this thread as now my thoughts have turned to winter! Last night I sat and wrote a list of the things I need to get organised before the cold winter start with a vengeance. The list so far is:
- PJs for me and DD
- Candles (loads and loads)
- Curtains up in living room, hall and dining room
- Possibly new blinds, pennies allowing
- Finish DDs quilt
- New gloves for me
- Rug to protect hall floor
- Door curtain for hall
- Grit
- Hot water bottle cover
- Scraper for the car
I have been chewing over building the store cupboards and freezer up however we had a lot of power and water cuts this winter.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
M&S do lovely fleecy PJs. They aren't cheap but they wash well & last for years.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Warm nightwear
Now I wonder if some of you can help, I have in the past bought cheap Pjs and they have not lasted well so I am thinking of investing in nice and warm pjs can anyone recommend a good make that are warm and not childish or old fashioned?
I've bought some excellent Pjs from Primark. They've lasted well. If you are slim I would recommend them. Only problem with Primark is they are a bit skimpy on sizes. Most of the time it's not a problem, but once you're sprawled out they can pull a bit if they're not roomy enough. I think it's why in nightwear they go up to size 22 for women.
last year they started a new line, IMHO, of rather attractive jersey nightwear. Pennies allowing, I think I might invest this year, only thing is I have a few already, satin and flannel-net so I don't really need them. But they do look comfortable.
I think the giant baby grows for men are hysterical. Complete with feet! Anyone got them? Chillout5892

When I moved to Wales my friend came to visit about a month later and got me and DD a all in one fleece babygrow each lol. They were from primark..not sure of the price though, think mine was £12 and its blue & has sheep on it
Its very warm but I do get a bit hot in it and its a bit of a pain when you need the toilet plus the feet on it are big and a bit dodgy on stairs.
I also have a long jersey nightie that reaches my ankles, has long sleeves and is super warm & was £6 from Primark 6 yrs ago!
The other month Littlewoods had 2packs of pjs long sleeved ones on offer for something silly like £4 so i got a pack and they are so comfy
Ohh just checked to see if LW's still had them and they've gone up to a whooping £32!!

No way would I pay that much!Recently moved to South Wales

Steph - I got some of those pjs too. They're lovely, though I haven't worn them yet. Am saving them for winter. I got a pair for DD too, to go in her "stocking".0

What are peoples opinions on Snow Boots? has anyone bought any?
I was thinking of buying a pair but they are quite pricey compared to a pair of wellies with thick socks..
Any advice greatly appriciatedGoal - We want to be mortgages free :j
