talktalk tv

Hi we have been with talktalk (or tiscali as it was) for over 3 years now on a deal that was costing Approx £15 a month for line rental, free evening and weekend calls, 1mb broard band and tiscali tv. Recently we had a letter telling us that the price is going up to £26, justified by increased broardband speed. We are not happy about this so were doing a bit of research on different packages etc and have discovered that talktalk don't seem to be offering talktalk tv to new customers. Are these price increases designed to price people away from talktalktv so that they can gradually wind up the whole tv part of thier operation?
If they do stop tv services will we be left with a box that does nothing much like itv digital?
Should we just run to another provider as quickly as we can?
So confused by all tariffs i am loath to unbundle everything especially when it looks like we would still be paying more that we were with Tiscali!!
:(
thanks

    Hi mousegirl,

We do only have limited information on the TalkTalk TV (formerly Tiscali TV). However at present we are not aware that the TV service will be taken away from existing customers, unless otherwise stated on communications sent to you.

    Cheers

I was thinking of moving my phone/broadband to TalkTalk - purely because they include 0845 numbers in their phone package - but the fact there isn't a tv option is a problem.

Is it possible to get the tv option, including something likt V+ or Sky+ with someone else or would I need to use Freeview?

With most people opting for a bundle deal, I can't see how TalkTalk expect to compete without TV.

    Hi AndreaE,

The TV service is only available in limited circumstances at present.

In regards to TV services I will provide your feedback to the relevant department for consideration.

  • Dump TalkTalk and all its variations. I'd rather go back to Setanta than deal with that lot again!
