Call Charges To Jersey, Channel Islands UK

Last night I made a phone call frm my BT landline to a mobile in Jersey, CI without thinking of the cost per minute. The call lasted about 20 minutes but I'm really worried about how much this will cost me - can anyone give me an idea of the price I'll be expected to pay for this call ? Thank you x

depends realy on your telephony supplier, and also which network the mobile that your calling is on.

This has been a nightmare to find out. And I'm still not sure I've got it right.

According to this site http://countrycode.org/jersey Jersey mobile numbers are 07797, 07700 and 07829

Now we go to http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/consumerProducts/pdf/SpecialisedNos.pdf which tells us those numbers are in Band f

And now it's a quick jaunt over to http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/consumerProducts/pdf/UKInternationalprices.pdf

to get the band f price of 28.5/19/9.5. You said last night, so that will be evening rate of 19p a minute.

Now 19*20 is 380, so I think you will be charged £3.80.


But I could be wrong.

Honestly, why they don't have a simple 'input the number, input the minutes called, get the price' thing on the BT website I don't know ???

The cost will depend on if you were calling a Jersey Mobile Proper. Or a UK Mobile Roaming in Jersey.

Yes. I assumed (correctly as it turned out but I should have asked) that it was the former..
