increase in speed from talktalk

Went up to 2.60mbps download and 0.4 upload sometime in the night, which is over 33 percent increase in speed (was hanging around 1.80mbps yesterday).
Any idea why, and what effect this is likely to have on line stability, as the last time it went over 2mbps (last year sometime) I had trouble logging on.
This company STILL sucks though, so only go to them if you enjoy 2 or 3 phone calls a day trying to sell you a new contract, and unsolicited junk email that you never subscribed to, and can't unsubscribe from.

It's going to be a change made by Dynamic Line Management. I suspect that you are probably not on TalkTalk LLU - is that correct?

There is something wrong with your statistics, your download speed is shown as 3 kbps or so. Did you copy them or do a cut and paste?
Anyhoo, your noise margin suggests that the router is clinging on and will probably resync as night falls.
With your line attenuation of 60db, you will never sync at more than 2-3 Mbps. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

The error in the stats is just that up/down are shown reversed and the numbers are shown with decimal point is , (thousands separator is then .)
It looks like you originally resynced when noise was low and it then rose as your margin was low in the first set.
It certainly isn't IPstream as the upstream is too high and you are running ADSL2 although that brings no benefit with a line as long as yours. I thought it may have been as big jumps in speed are often caused by the abysmal BTw DLM changing the IP profile.
Not really much to say other than you have a long line and your speed will likely remain low apart from the odd hiccup like you saw which won't last long.
If you haven't already done so then ensuring there are no ring wires in your internal wiring may help - http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm0 -
Hi What a joke,
Looks as if Kwik has addressed most of the issues re speed changes.
Without lookign at your account its difficult for us to see what this change is relevant to as it may be something as simple as DLM. If you regster on the TalKTalk Forum we can investigate into this for you.
We can also request a marketing opt out as applicable.
Cann you confirm if you have a numeric or alpha numeric acount nubmer as this will define which forum you will ned to register for assitance.
