Can you post a link to this years profit? and ideally previous years as well (because it has to be taken in context). If you are questioning your own views, does that mean you agree their are profits, even record profits, in car insurance in this years figures?
May I suggest a seperate thread out of respect for the OP? (I have now started one).
But very happy to have an informed debate about the facts and happy to change my views if on reflection they turn out to be wrong :-) I'm happy to be open minded.
But suggest this thread is left for helping the OP with his problem.0 -
Perhaps if your first post wasn't justifying the rise in premiums as the direct result of costs, we wouldn't be discussing it here
To get back on track, the only way to get a cheaper quote is to set up a dummy go compare, and play with the cars, using group one or two, and a UK address.

Parking doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference, adding older drivers helps, and loading the excess brings it down slightly.
Being 21 helps, some companies will start to relax a bit then, but you need to get quotes from people like Adrian Flux, and any other broker.
If you have been driving, and insured abroad, a good broker may be able to get you a discount based on your driving record, and get you a deal equal to another one or two years ncd, on top of your old 1 year proof from the uk.
