Same rice cooker is £9.99 in Homebase (online only), if this helps anyone.

That's because you don't know how to use it.

I have tried reducing the water right down and increasing it as well but it still constantly boils up high and spills out the little hole then from under the lid. I'm only putting in rice for 3 people so even with water added it's very shallow to start with.

Maybe it's faulty! It boils furiously.

Perhaps it is faulty. Can you send it back?
  • Eh? Rice cooker.

    Surely that's an expensive pot...

    No it's a rice cooker.
  • I love my cookworks one too, but can someone help as I have lost instructions

Is it 2.5 cups water to rice?

Excuse my ignorance - but what does it do differently from a pot when cooking the rice?

Hi, I have to agree with the fact that I have enough kitchen gadgets and do not really want any more as it would end up at the back of the cupboard or in the charity shop. Bit like my waffle maker, donut machine and tea maker which I gave away last week! x

Senses when the rice is 95% cooked (regardless of amount) and turns the heat down low to finish it off / keep warm.

Hmm. Perhaps it's worth a punt from me, as I always end up turning rice into porridge.
