    I've been Money Tipped!
I bought a rice cooker a few weeks ago when curry had them for £6.99. I really cannot get on with it. Needs more watching than a pan it constantly seems to froth up and spill over.

It's heading for the car boot box.
  • I always thought that a rice cooker would be easy and I always wanted to get one but my OH wouldn't let me as he said it would be another gadget that I used a couple of times and then shoved in the cupboard taking up space and gathering dust (just like my deep fat fryer). I'm glad you passed that info on Bootman - you've probably just saved me a bit of cash :)

i normally cook my rice with this as i only need 2 small cups! cooks very well like the steam chinese rice and can put in the fridge for leftover or can be put away in the cupboard easily. been using it for years!

i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble
  • I have the argos cookworks rice cooker, i have had it for about a year and i have used it loads. It has never boiled over. One thing I would say though is as soon as it has finished cooking fluff up the rice and do not leave it on warm for too long as it gets a bit dry on the bottom.
  • Just ordered one - thanks! Missed out on the Currys one :-)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I have the Cookworks one as well. I did not think that we would use it much but we do all the time. It makes much nicer rice than what we made before and it has never split over. The best gadget I have bought in ages!
  • I bought the argos model few months ago (at £9.99) and cannot fault it! really a "load and forget" kind of thing, very easy to use and never overcooked or undercooked my rice. when the rice is cooked, fluff it a bit, you will have a dry fine layer at the bottom if left to long but other then that fantastic gadget. I even stop ordering the rice with my indian or chineses take away that tell you how much I love it. :heart2::heart2:
Look to me that for a lot of peoples it is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them ;)
:) Do thanks me if you find my post useful to you :)

That's because you don't know how to use it.
