Using Pre-paid envelopes sent by credit card companies/banks

  • They can come in useful.

I recently cancelled my Scottish Widows DD as I found it impossible to contact anyone there. Needless to say, within a couple of days, I received a new DD mandate form for me to fill out with them saying there was an 'error'.

I used the envelope to send my letter of complaint.

Now this IS a wonderful idea :T

Omg I love the idea of sending back loads of mail shots to these companies. We get loads of prepaid postcards that come through the door that you're supposed to add your name and address too etc. I'm going to start sellotaping other junk to the back and sending it back. My previously bad day has just got better.....how sad does that make me!

If you could find the details of the marketing manager/managing director then send them back with his/her name on it :rotfl:

Isn't that taking the DFW crusade just a bit too far?

No, because it's more of a recycling crusade than a debt free one!

Just wondering, in a MSE way, do the labels end up cheaper than the envelopes? Must look into this...

You can use the envelope to go somewhere else, by sticking a label over the original address, but you need to add your own stamps. I hardly ever buy new envelopes!!

I've done this for ages. You do have to use a stamp (and I always cross out any reference to the original sender) but you never have to buy new envelopes for anything (apart from perhaps a job application!).

I don't even bother with labels, I just cross out the old address and write the new one on. Unless you're applying for a job or something similar, it doesn't matter imho what it looks like.

Or you can type the address in Word, cut it to the right size and stick it on with glue.
