I'm in need of new hair straighteners. Can anyone recommend any decent ones at a reasonable price? I'm thinking of something around 30 quid. I can't afford GHDs so please don't keep telling me how marvellous they are!
Thanks

I've got Remington ones (model S9903) They were half price in boots last Christmas and think I paid about 30 pound for them.
They work as well as my GHDs did. I had issues with GHDs cos I'd previously bought 3 pairs and each one only lasted about 13 months, which really annoyed me given the cost of them! So far the Remington ones are doing well and for £30 I cant complain!0 -
Remington wet 2 straight are amazing and saved me loads of time without having to dry my hair too!!!

Keep an eye on Babyliss Radience:

These are very often half priced in both Boots and Argos and can come as low as £39. These are better than GHD (I compared them with my friends) and guaranteed for 3 years.0 -
i'd say go for ones that are the hottest possible. i has some that were 210 temp and were ok, but bought new ones which are 230 and wow that little bit of extra temp make so much difference. i can do my hair in about 2 mins now and it really last.
i got mine from sse. we get staff discount so makes them really good price.

Babyliss Pro 230 are amazing, better than GHD in my opinion. I have both and prefer my Babyliss, they cost me £17.
Just did a quick google and several places have them for about £25-£30The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I would highly recommend the Asda ceramic ones. They heat to the same temperatures as GHDs and are very effective - there are lots of rave reviews online about them. They are an absolute steal at £7.97 too..0
