Mobile phone charges?

So here is todays big question!

Ok, so we have companies who want to buy your old mobile phones not the chargers? Why don't they want them and what on earth can you do with them once you have sold you phones?

Sainsbury's were collecting them all last month for recycling

I tend to stick to Nokia phones so having 3 chargers allows me to keep one at home, one at work and one at the other half's. Also, being thin pin Nokia chargers, they are fragile, so a spare is a good idea.
