is there an android app that could help here with scanning stuff and directing people to stuff too look for at there local store ?

You can scan stuff with a tesco pricechecker app, but it does not link into the price file for the store you are in so is often innacurate.

MSE is the best place to look for info on what to find, but sorry there is no shortcut to this, it takes time and effort to get these glitches. If it didn't, there wouldn't be any left of anything most of the time as everyone would get the glitches.

It's all very well finding a deluge of chocolate balls for 1p nationwide. But what I want to know is, when is someone going to find bottles of Jack Daniels for 1p. Now that is what I call REAL money saving! :j:beer:
You missed the Jack Daniels for 1p glitch? Never mind, it may come round again..................;)

Just been to our Sainsbury's local and had a little look in, what I call, the reject shelf. You know the one, where they put all the out of season stuff. Anyway - managed to get 3 packs of 8 Halloween goody bags for 1p each. Its not just limited to Tesco and at that price its worth storing them til October xx

I just used this to check all the products I have got from Tesco for 1p and none of them were found

So I thought "great, maybe that means I have found a way to scan for products that are discontinued and will come up at a penny".

    Nope, wont work that easily

Why? Because I also scanned all the products that I could see in my cupboard that I know came from Tesco (including a lot of Tesco own brand stuff) and not ONE barcode was recognised

It seems to me as though its a duff app
Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen
  • I was in Tesco on 23rd Jan, and bought a couple of small bags of vegetable crisps. (I had only seen large bags before)
I was as surprised as the check-out girl at the price, 1p each, and was tempted to go back for more! However, as I was in a hurry, I told two other shoppers I bumped into, & they seemed pleased, so I hope they also benefited!
  • No price on an ultra flat keyboard in Tesco. Took it to desk and the guy said "75." I said pounds, he said "No pence." I made him scan it again. It came up at 75p at the checkout too!!
So I bought it...Of course!! :rotfl:

I thoought I'd have a quick check for the Lindt mini balls in my local tonight but didn't hold out much hope...my local is a prime target for MSNers, it seems. But surprise surprise, I found five packs mixed up with the Easter version. I checked them on the price scanner...1p, so off to the till. But the very pleasant checkout assistant got worried and called the superviser who looked and said "Oh, there's only five packs, let her have them." Some days you just get lucky.

Funny you should say that I got 1 for free at Christmas, I was buying the reduced Turkeys and saw they had the 750ml on offer for £15, so i brought 2 the SA removed the security cap off 1 and scanned it, when he went to take the cap off the other 1 he couldn't so he called for help and in the end they swapped the bottle, and guess what he took the cap off and passed it to me without scanning it, what a result. It made my christmas.
