Thanks to everyone who explained that it was the Lindt balls that were brought out for xmas and were now just 1p. I think I've been checking the eggs all this time. Drat, I wonder how many bags of these I've missed out on.....
Anyway, I was in an Express today and found one bag of balls mixed in with the eggs and with my fingers crossed I went to the till and it DID scan at 1p. The barcode on the pack ends 8043 (this is on the actual pack not on a sticker) and best before is 03/2012
On another disappointing note I see that the aero mint xmas trees rae now on offer at 30p until 14/2/12. I had really hoped these would go to clearance of 1p but doesn't look like its happening any time soonApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

My experience Edinburgh:
Both Express Stores and Extra Stores have charged full price for Lindt Lindor Eggs whether the 043 under the bar code sticker or the old 534 sticker job.
But today in a Metro I found my first packet of the Lindt Lindor Chocolate Balls 100g b/c ends 73907 for guess what? 1p :j << receipt! But I think the pic >> Lindt Lindor Chocolate Balls are as hard to find as hens teeth now0 -

The bags of eggs and balls are virtually identical. Apart from the obvious difference (ie one bag containing balls the other eggs) one quick way to distinguish them is to look at the picture on bottom right corner of the pack and whether it shows an oval or round choccie. Took me ages to notice that
I scanned through the selection in my store really quickly and found what i was after in no time. If i was looking at barcodes or examining the chocolates through the clear plastic window it would take foreverApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

See my original post. Have added a front picture. They look exactly the same except they are balls not eggs. Good luck

The christmas lindor bags have stars on the front of the pack, whereas the easter eggs have butterflies on the front0 -
not all balls are 1p, as I found out after clearing 2 clipstrips of them and finding they scanned at £2 a pack! "Ooh i'll leave these I said, they were just 50p the other day...." leaving the till and going to put them back.....0

It's all very well finding a deluge of chocolate balls for 1p nationwide. But what I want to know is, when is someone going to find bottles of Jack Daniels for 1p. Now that is what I call REAL money saving! :j:beer:0
