I just popped into my local Tesco and there wasn't any of the Cafe Direct on the shelves but there was a box of coffee on the top storage shelf which had a tick box on it saying the products were for a promotion. There were other tick boxes too (for errors, faulty, etc) but they weren't ticked.

I naughtily took a packet out and went to the self service and hey presto - 1p!

Found the coffee in Springhill (Bangor) but didn't realise it wasn't instant so left it on the shelf. Didn't find any of the other 1p bargains :(

Have you never been savaged by a particularly vicious underwire?

The first time that happened to me I thought I was having a coronary! :rotfl:
    Hope is not a strategy.
  • Thanks to all you kind folks, and op for starting the thread.
I managed to get 2 packs of coffee - snuck through on the self scanner while sa busy.:p
Really annoyed though as 2 price scanners in the store have not been working for YEARS !!

Whenever I 'casually' mention to staff about it, they blame kids for breaking it...... but it hasn't been fixed in years.
It is a bit of a gamble if these offers work nationally until it gets widely reported.

    Delighted that coffee worked.
May go to bigger Tescos tonight and get some more - and may have time to use their price scanner and find others to report back.
    Fingers crossed theirs is working;)
  • Don't have a coffee machine but picked up 6 packs for my friend who does have one. Brilliant thread this is.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .
