At the risk of being unpopular, I agree about not complaining about not being sold a 1p item. It's a gamble that you take. I have never been stopped with one yet but we are all aware that it's best to use the Self scanners to pay and that the SA could stop you. If people do complain then they are more likely to pull the 1p items much quicker. If I get stopped I'll be ready to have a strong discussion with the SA about it but wouldnt contact head office, just my opinion as I wouldnt want to spoil it for others. It is unfair that some people get stopped and some don't but that's the gamble we take with 1p items and glitches unfortunately.Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Morning all,
I don't usually get drawn into discussions like this but feel the need to put my pennys worth in on this one.
I agree that if people do complain about being stopped from buying a 1p item that it draws attention to it and the item will then be either taken off the shelf or price changed a lot more quickly than if let to run its course.
I understand it must be very upsetting to having something in your basket/trolley that you know is 1p bargain being taken away when you know others have had success. To me it is a game of chance and so far I have been very lucky. I would put a refusal down to bad experience and wait for the next one. It is not fair that everyone does not get the same chance but as nikkilala says we know it is a gamble.
Hope everyone has some good finds today and fingers crossed that no one gets stopped. Tinyshoes x0 -

couldn't agree more.
this thread is becoming increasingly popular; which is great! but complaining to HO about 1p items is not the best idea for the future of 1p bargain hunting. 1p items have been around since september and i'd like to see them stay for many years.
if tesco start to get hundreds of complaints, then 1p items may no longer exist.
if you do get a bad experience, put it behind you. try other stores or go to your local at a different time. another piece of advice would be to find a couple of SAs that you know are cool about selling 1p items. get friendly with 'em; that way, you'll get your 1p items.
i'll probably get shot down for what i've said, but as a keen 1p hunter, i want my 1p hunt to continue for a long time!:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member
