Grabbed 24 Harpics, 4 roses, and 1 Koko Truffles at Worcester, there was more Truffles but they all had a RTC sticker on reduced to £2 which was unrecognised on the scanner, no chilli nuts but I did find a 2 month out of date packet of the Dormen nuts.0

princesslou wrote: »i worked for a supermarket for about 6 years (and was very much on the side of the customer!) but they attempt to "brain wash" you that the people getting the discounts are making staff lose jobs. Whenever we had a major glitch or problem, the managers would say "well THEY (customers) dont care, its not their jobs on the line". it was made clear that everytime we were "ripped off", the company lost money which was therefore lowering our christmas bonus's and eventually would lead to jobs being cut. I was, however, a teenager and at college, so this didnt bother me too much and I still put things through. Now though, it occurs to me that while there, they took away our 10% off staff discount cards for over a year, as "profits were down". At the time we were, obviously, annoyed, but I never gave it too much thought (probably because I lived at home and didnt pay for my own shopping so losing 10p off my dinner each day didnt bother me). Now though it infuriates me that when large supermarkets make mistakes, instead of taking it out of the BILLIONS they make in profits, they punish the staff by taking away perks and discounts. I make the most of these glitches, because at the end of the day, its Tesco's problem. I think the sticks-of-rock are just easily led and believe what they are being told by the managers. You get them in every business. Rather than blame Tesco's for the lack of bonus's, they blame us. Its mad that they think that taking four boxes of roses from someone will make THEM look better to management. pathetic.
It's not the few boxes of Roses or anything else at 1 p that affects profits, because to price them at 1p they have already written them off, so what does it matter who buys them. Generally customers buy other items too, to take the 'heat' off the 1p items. It's the attitude of the staff towards the customer that stinks, like they are committing a criminal offence. When the supermarkets say it is not the customers' jobs on the line ... obviously they are not bothered because of the introduction of all the self service tills. The supermarkets are just mega greedy.0
